Minuet and Rondo

Minuet and Rondo

Some additional form types that we will take a look at in music class:

Rondo – a form in which the A section alternates with two contrasting sections, creating a plan of ABACA.

Minuet – a stately French dance of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries that is often included in the third movement of classical symphonies.  It is in AB form and in triple meter.

Minuet and Trio – A form in which the minuet is followed by another AB section called the trio, then by a repetition of the original minuet.
