Intervals

We look at the following intervals in music class.  They are based on using middle C as the low note.

We can use songs to help identify intervals in songs:

Unison -      c : c   the same note

                   Major 2^nd – c : d   Chopsticks

                   Major 3^rd -   c : e   A triad

Perfect 4^th – c : f   Here Comes the Bride

Perfect 5^th -  c : g  Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

                   Major 6^th -    c : a   NBC Theme

Major 7^th -    c : b  Maria from West Side Story

                   Perfect 8^th (octave) c : c  Heart and Soul
