Overview

Students in seventh grade have the opportunity to learn to play some basics on the guitar.  For this unit, the students learn the parts of the guitar; the names of the strings on the guitar; the first three notes on the highest two strings; and two three-string chords.  Proper handling of the guitar is very important and students are instructed to take proper care of the instruments.  Improper handling of the guitar may result in the student not being allowed to participate or play the guitar.  Picks are also available for students to sign out and use during the music class.
