Here are the group and individual activities for Day 6.
FEEDBACK:
Remember my two guidelines:

2. Stay within your own group
ACTIVITIES:
The following is taken from “The NPR Curious Listener’s Guide to Opera” by William Berger.
The beginnings of opera:
“It was “invented” by intellectuals in late-Renaissance Florence who were trying to emulate techniques of Ancient Greek drama. Its next phase, within two years of its invention, was as court entertainment. The public as we know it did not enter into the picture until two generations later.”
“They called themselves the Camerata, and their number included musicians, poets, and, not least, Galileo’s philosopher father.”
“Peri and Rinuccini did not quite know what to call their creation, so it was simply called opera in musica, a “work in music.” It was presented to a sophisticated audience in a Florentine palazzo in 1597.”
On the separate piece of paper:
Most operas fall into two main categories: Light and Serious
How would you categorize the five operas that you looked at in the book?
Be sure to name each opera when you tell me the category for the opera.
Bonus: Name one other opera by Wolfgang A. Mozart.
